speaking of joys, my little girl is a smart and sensitive and funny and playful almost-four-year old, and i had the great pleasure of spending all day with just her last week. her school was closed, james' school was open, and i took a day off of before making a major role transition at work. ramona and i spent that day together alone, and it was such a treat. james and ramona together are awesome but tricky (they fight every 10 minutes, for 5 minutes at a time. i know because i've timed it. it makes me feel insaaaaaaaaane.). but one of them alone with a parent or parents? easy street. david had an alone day with james last week, and he said it was easily one of his favorite days all year. my day with ramona was equally good.
we went to the zoo, where she posed with the lion statue,
and got to play veterinarian at the super awesome and interactive new animal hospital.

we shared a hot cocoa at a restaurant,
and she ate her afternoon snack of raisins off a plate on the floor "just like the kitties do" and, you know what?, i let her.

Please do not stop blogging! I love reading the Staple updates. I would be super sad to see less pictures of my beautiful niece and nephew. This post made me very happy. Good luck next wee!
