big steps

sweet baby james may not get to keep his nickname for much longer. he is growing so quickly and moving so much that we might have to start calling him sweet toddler james. and that is a mouthful.

he turned 8 months, sprouted 5 teeth, started crawling, forgot how to sleep a little bit (that's better now, thankGOD), and pulls to stand everywhere. all the time. he is a very big and busy boy all of a sudden, and his split and bleeding lip and bruised forehead bear the evidence.

recent developmental milestones include:

1. discovery of the cat food, dissemination of the cat food, making a quick getaway

2. watermelon


3. naked bear crawling, his preferred state of being

4. peek a boo. of course. because he's a human baby.

we still can't get over how wonderful he is.

while i'm busy cheering for my little guy and recording his life on camera, these two twins have learned to be patient (they're posing in the adapted-for-the-staple-family sign language sign for "patience." we use that one A LOT around this house.)
