cookies with a toddler

gingerbread cookie cutouts are less precise, less perfect, less well shaped when cut out by a toddler. but they are more charismatic, more playful, more invested with fun and love, and, i daresay, more tasty.

our little baker dons her apron, dusts her cookie cutters, and gets busy with a rolling pin.

and there's little james, just chillin' in his bouncy seat, snoozing through the cookie-making-chaos like only a second born can.

I'm verklempt. Baking Christmas cookies is a chore when you don't have any little ones to help you.
Ramona is a wonderful baker. She makes a great pecan pie for Thanksgiving too.
