trick or treat

ramona's first trick or treating event happened on her second halloween, and we loved it. she had a warm-up round at daycare, during which she wore her lion costume, rode around the hospital (the site of her daycare) in a wagon with her buddies, and visited parents' work sites. when she arrived at my clinic, she was hot, scared, tired, and hungry. (no photos available).

fortunately, the warm up round looked nothing like game time. she was excited about re-applying her face paint,

couldn't stop showing off her fancy trick-or-treat bag from daycare,

did a little roaring on the front steps

engaged in some serious jack-o-lantern investigation,

and even bravely approached a few houses.

i heard her say "happy halloween" after a LOT of prompting, and with lots of begging she said "trick or treat" once. but what did she say at every house, every time she got candy, without prompting? "thank you." yes, i'm bragging, but it's my blog.

and because she's just a toddler and we're good parents, we promptly ate all of her candy (10 pieces total) after she went to bed. happy halloween!
