memorial day hijinks

we spent a lovely, if somewhat rainy/chilly/windy, weekend in grand haven, michigan. ramona got to play with her nana and papa nonstop, and sometimes the weather agreed to let us go outside.

a hike through the muddy woods led to a downhill jaunt on a sandy grassy ski hill. we brought the wrong stroller, for sure.

we found time to play in the water. unfortunately, the water was a puddle on the sidewalk, not the clear blue water of lake michigan. we aren't sure that ramona cared. she LOVED this puddle.

on monday, the sun came out before we left, so we walked out to the pier and played in the sand.

when we came home to madison, we found summer waiting for us. we wasted no time in hooking up the sprinkler and running through the cold water to cool our hot, road-weary bodies. ramona liked the sprinkler, but needed lots of hugs and reassurance that it wasn't scary. it wasn't scary.
