trick-or-what?

last year, we had an unbelievable number of trick-or-treaters! we ran out of candy by 7:30pm and had to shut off the lights to hide from the hungry, sugar-starved goblins of the near east side. this year, we prepared ourselves by tripling the candy and giving out only one piece per visitor.
but our preparations were for naught; the number of trick-or-treaters was disappointingly low. we blame the school night. and now i've got a stomachache from too many butterfingers and m&ms.

the day wasn't a total loss. we had good friends, good bloody marys, a warm fire, and yummy cake donuts in the sunny warm backyard on halloween afternoon.

we even had a dragon and bumble bee in attendance.

our bumblebee changed into a lion after a little afternoon nap.
