deck the halls

thanksgiving is over, and that means one thing in the staple house: tree time.

this year we visited a different tree farm. we went to CaPaul's in waunakee. here's what we found: a reindeer in a cage, and small, overpriced trees. of note, the scotch pines appeared to have been sprayed with blue dye.

anyway, here's the reindeer. sad little fellow.

hunting was challenging, but we ultimately found the right frasier fir.

david, our lumberjack, lies down on the job. literally.

we got the tree, but we won't go back to CaPaul's next year. the didn't even have a mr. and mrs. claus. and no horse-drawn sleigh? please.

our festive seasonal spirits were restored with working tree lights, and a most enthusiastic topping of the tree.

At least the view was nice... I don't remember Waunakee having a sweeping vista over the plains.
