weird sunset

a week ago, the thick clouds of a late afternoon thunderstorm provided a ceiling for a most unusual and spectacular sunset over lake mendota. after an afternoon with plenty of thunder and very little sunshine, the sun dipped below the storm clouds and shone its deep orange sunset glow. our street glowed, and people poured out of their homes. a double rainbow appeared. lightning continued to flash. unicorns danced with elves.
