recent manholes

despite the trend of cities putting in new and distinctive manhole covers, which i enjoy very much (see, e.g., here, here, and here), it's the really old ones that i like the best.

these first two are in the longfellow neighborhood of minneapolis.

this manhole is on williamson street in madison. it's curiously close to that building.
