how many state mottos does wi have?! what happened to live like you mean it and you're among friends? looked like a beautiful day for the farmers market!

forward is wisco's only motto. live like you mean it and you're among friends are simply slogans for advertisement sake.

incidentally, michigan's motto is si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice or if you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.

Am I losing it? I can't picture that area for some reason. Where was that shot taken from?

It is at the top of state street, on the steps going down from the capitol. The statue is a replica of the one atop the capitol building.

interestingly, the uw motto is "numen lumen" which can be translated to mean "God, our light" Also interesting is the stanford motto: "Die Luft der Freiheit weht" which can be translated to mean "the wind of freedom blows" or "freedom blows". mottos are interesting!

i like to interpret the stanford motto in a negative connotation, like, "i hate freedom. freedom blows."

Thank you, that helped. Also, I realize now that I should have said:

"From where was that shot taken?"

Pardon my poor grammer.
