a program called macosaix. you select a image, enter in the location of the tile pictures (e.g. one your own photo albums, your entire photo portfolio, the internet, etc.), provide some specifications (e.g. number of tiles, is repeating allowed, etc.), and the program fits the tile pictures to make a mosaic that best approximates the selected image.

wow, those came out a lot better than the ones I've tried.
Who are those people in the bottom picture?
i think you were at that wedding. the reception was at the university club. you might even be in one of the tile pictures.
