for comparison, here is a photo of the same pier in grand haven exactly one year ago. it was a little less cold and snowy on christmas in grand haven in 2007.
even the tiniest of icicles are beautiful. these little icicles coat the branches on a bush behind the house.

WOW, you know, I remember an ice storm like this one when I was a kid visiting my Grandma in Kalamazoo, MI. Beautiful photos!
