gut check america?

i found this slogan and image on msnbc.com. what in the world does it even mean? it was the header for a web page where individuals can write in and tell msnbc, "what keeps them up at night." "stand up and be counted", sounds like voting, but what does that have to do with "gut check america?" the guy with the overalls and flag actually looks like he might be out of some old school communist propaganda images like this one:
but i doubt that was what they were going for.

anyway, it sounds like msnbc thinks you are getting soft and are in need of a "gut check." so take that for what it's worth.

i think i need to add msnbc.com to the list of news websites i no longer go to.

One thing that keeps me up at night is our celebrity obsessed culture and the media that is complicit in feeding it to them, also the fact that real news accounts for ~10% of what is shown where the rest is thinly veiled commercials (as in the "Techwatch" section) or tributes to anna nicole smith, Brittney Spears, or Heath Ledger. Political analysis consists of obsessing over what flag pin or pants suit a cantidate is wearing (like Joan Rivers on the red carpet) vs. making the canditates give cogent answers and plans. Thats what keeps me up at night MSNBC, care to report on that?

Gut Check America is, for the most part, a group of old ladies that post non-stop about the "invasion" of illegal immigrants in the US.

Simply put, it's a white supremacy site disguised as being "anti-immigration".

Avoid it like the plague.
